About NetZero Ventures:

We are accelerating decarbonisation utilising blockchain technology and Renewable Energy Finance (ReFi) by developing a web 3.0 project that will enable the web3 community to learn/play to earn in the energy transition and investing in In Real Life (IRL) projects that will meaningfully reduce carbon emissions and provide rewards to our customers.


Below is an overview of our project and what NetZero Ventures has set out to achieve.

Problems

  • Energy production accounts for over 1/3rd of total emissions of Greenhouse Gasses (GHGs) with coal as a fossil fuel containing the highest amount of carbon content.
  • Continuous emissions is resulting in a massive surge in the earth’s temperature and our planet is getting hotter.
  • Rising levels of Global Warming are leading to rising temperatures, rising sea levels, hurricanes, flooding, droughts, soil erosion, heat waves and bush fires.

Solutions & Goals

  • Emission reductions are currently at ≅160 million metric tonnes of CO2 per year but need to be at ≅1-2 billion metric tonnes to hold global warming below 2°C and ideally at the 1.5°C target.
  • Phasing out of coal power plants and replacing them with renewable energy sources like solar, wind, geothermal, tidal and hydro power needs to be accelerated.
  • This will allow us to reach Net Zero where the global greenhouse emissions are cancelled out by the emission reductions.
  • GHG emissions need to half by 2030 and achieve net-zero by 2050
